I prefer not to use the Facebook comments when posting on other people's blogs simply because I have quite a private FB profile and a public FB page. I don't want my FB profile feed flooded with comments that I've left on blogs, maybe having to explain the comment (or even "blogging") to one of my friends and even though I'm a great user of social media I don't actually like the concept that appears to be "SHARE MORE, SHARE IT ALL".

Disqus, like Livefyre, allows you to share comments on Twitter or Facebook by ticking a box - I prefer that option. Choice. I don't like being forced into using public platforms that I need to sign up for. I also like being able to sign in as a "guest" in some places.

(and if I find that I have to sign up for livefyre when I try to post this comment, I won't be a happy bunny)

Edit - oh look at that - every option but "guest" (i.e. name & email). Hhhmmm. I've had to allow livefrye to access my Twitter account.

OMG AND livefyre wanted me to sign up with them in my Twitter name anyway.

Ended up having to post here - not ticked the "post to fb" box - the other comment box won't accept my comment for some strange reason. Sorry for ranting a little but point made, I think.

Final edit - this went through on Disqus. I do think that commenting should be as easy as possible and I still have issues with Disqus but IntenseDebate threw up ghost threads for me and Blogger (my own platform) doesn't give threaded comments.

I can only handle camping for 3 days MAX. After that I am not responsible for my actions. My husband knows this and would never ask more of me. He loves camping, but at least we both can agree that we need a shower! haha. We did a safari in South Africa and we chose the camping option because it was cheaper. Dear God I nearly died after the 3rd day and the bugs! Arggggg. But now I look back and it was amazing, but when we got back to the hotel that hot shower never felt so good!

Oh the MAGIC TRACKPAD! my christmas present all found! :) At the moment I am coping with my toshiba as laptop but I can't see it last very long before I invest in Apple's empire again :)

You see I am worried two of the most important of these conditions don't meet expectation and that's freaking me out (dirty bathrooms and rain)... maybe if I bring lots of wine the experience will be more pleasant!

Camping can be fun provided 1) it does not rain 2) the shower block/toilet is clean 3) you are in a gorgeous place by the sea or in the countryside 4) it's only for two nights. Try it! ;-)

It must be wonderful, so many people do it... I am not sure I am convinced yet, the outdoor life is not really for me I think, but will see :)

I think it says it all that my husband and the children are away camping and I am at home. I don't like the bathroom arrangements either and I just can't sleep under canvas. I tried it in my 20s and hated every second. Admittedly, it was a v small tent and I felt claustrophobic, but still. They have a great time wherever they go tho they tend to go to sites with v good facilities and the kids meet lots of other children and go off to play all the time.

Still not convinced tho - I like my sleep and I like my bed!

No, camping is wonderful! I love it!

Another site requirement for us is a pub ;-)

Most of the sites we've stopped on have had really great facilities, even those with the more basic facilities have all been really clean. Check out UKCampsite and read some reviews to get a better feel of the sites.

You can also get an electric hook-up (we have one for electric cool box, phone chargers etc) which makes things a little easier

I am so happy for you!!!! I converted to macs about 4 years ago (I got a MacBook with my job). I bought a MacBook Pro about 3 months ago and because I couldn't get enough I also just bought an iMac! I, too, tried to marry it but my husband put his foot down. Dammit.

For my birthday Elfie bought me a magic trackpad which replaced my mouse and I fell in love all over again.

Mac do really great workshops if you have a store close to you - http://www.apple.com/uk/retail... - they're a good way to get started! xx
